Poweshiek County Public Safety Center

Located on the southeast corner of US Highway 63 and Barnes City Road, the low profile structure sits easily on the land, introducing the visitor traveling north to the seat of county government, Montezuma, Iowa. This building houses the 49-bed Poweshiek County Jail, 911 / dispatch, and offices for the sheriff, deputies, assistant county attorney, emergency management services, and the civil division.

A verification report by The Weidt Group for MidAmerican Energy's Commercial New Construction Rebate Program calculates annual energy savings at more than $36,000. The incremental payback for the increased cost of materials and construction associated with energy conservation is calculated at 3.3 years. Poweshiek County is scheduled to receive a rebate of $58,800 from MidAmerican Energy.
